
An experienced drug developer and business manager, Dr. Teillol-Foo has been a Principal Investigator or Medical Sponsor for hundreds of clinical studies by LCRC, Pharmaco, SmithKline Beecham, Pharmacia & Upjohn and Daiichi Pharmaceuticals.
Through international experience and global postings, he has experience in strategy and operations at HQ and subsidiary companies in Europe (UK), US and Asia (Japan and Singapore), managing an array of diverse programs in Canada, Hawaii, Africa, New Zealand, Thailand, Korea and China.
His 'bridging' experience includes UK/US projects with Japanese and Korean subjects, beginning in 1992. He conducted the first Japanese clinical pharmacology studies for SKB-Japan and Pharmacia-Japan, outside Japan, and the first formal presentation of Japanese data gathered from outside Japan to Kikou.
As a pioneer builder, he was the first research physician at a startup UK CRO, set up the first Clinical Pharmacology department for Pharmacia Japan, created a new research clinic and trained personnel in Singapore for Pharmacia/Pfizer, and built the first Global Bridging department for Daiichi Japan.
As the first Director of Clinical Pharmacology for Pharmacia Japan, Dr. Teillol-Foo also managed a staff of 200 as acting Executive Medical Director Japan, before and after the PNU-Searle merger. Subsequently, he was appointed Regional Senior Director (Clinical Pharmacology Asia-Pacific) for Pharmacia. He was the first foreigner and youngest 'buchoh' (General Manager) in Daiichi Pharmaceutical Co. As VP of Global Bridging, together with Daiichi Medical Research Inc. colleagues, Dr. Teillol-Foo was honored as a finalist for the 'Scrip Award 2005: Best Management Team of the Year'.
Dr. Teillol-Foo is UK-trained physician (Sheffield) with post-graduate qualifications in Anesthesia, Critical Care, and Pharmaceutical Medicine. He is a Fellow of both the English & Irish Colleges of Anesthetists and holds the DipPharmMed (UK).
